Festival Punk de Montréal 2013! Canadian booking service, L'Écurie (The Stable) will host punk rock in all its poutine covered, French Canadian glory during the 2013 Pouzza Fest, May 17th-19th in downtown Montreal, which features over 150 bands, including several from the Bay State. Along with big name hometown bands such as Big D and the Kids Table and A Wilhelm Scream, several more modest bands will be heading up to the land of hockey and bacon this spring.
Burning Streets
Boston punk rockers, Burning Streets (Sailors Grave Records) recently opened for the Dead Kennedys at The Middle East and The Street Dogs during the December Wreck The Halls show at the Paradise. Per their Facebook page, you can check out their acoustic set before Pouzza, April 5th at Tanner Tavern in Woburn, MA.
Cerce (Pronounced sert-zay)
The female fronted Boston hardcore band, Cerce (Mayfly Records), appears to hail from several locations including New York, California and Philadelphia, but is in town long enough to play the Smash It Dead Fest, a weekend- long benefit for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC), on March 31st at the Democracy Center, Cambridge.
Maker
“Started in a Massachusetts basement in 2007,” the Springfield rock band, Maker (Engine Records/Asbestos Records), recently scored a weekend tour with Boy Sets Fire in late May.
Rebuilder
Comprised of former members of the Boston punk band, Dead Ellington, Rebuilder (Refuse Rethink Rebuild Records) has hit the ground running and will be opening for the Dropkick Murphys at the House of Blues this Saint Patrick’s Day. Stereo State
Melodic Punk Rock straight out of Holyoke, MA. Stereo State’s (Creator-Destructor Records) 2012 Crossing Canyons EP has gained stellar praise by Independent Clauses.com, Stereo Killer.com, Modern Vinyl.com and Rock Freaks.net.
