"Thank you, we're In the Meantime. From Peabody...up North." A few things. In the Meantime is not named after an early 90's alt-rock song, they hail from the great north(shore), and as their full length album title and trademark mic stand drink holders suggest, this band gets down to business, with zero spillage.
North Shore punk Rock gets down to business |
It's become pretty obvious that RTT Presents puts on a damn good rock show, and Thursday night at O'Brien's Pub in Allston was no exception. Influenced by the pre PayPal days of classic punk bands like NOFX and Less Than Jake, the music of In the Meantime is reminiscent of denim jackets, back patches and mohawks. High school flashbacks all the way.
Ranging from pop rock and punk to ska, ITM kept their set diverse like your favorite mixtape. And to their fans' delight (mine included), got the room moving with their hit track, G-Town Anthem, featured on the January Rock Out With Your Cocktail Out Playlist.
A fine example of Boston area punk rock, "Northshore's sexiest 20something year-old-teenagers" do not disappoint. Follow In the Meantime on Facebook for upcoming shows, and if you can't make it out to buy a CD in person, utilize the wonders of the 21st century and purchase one on-line. It will rock.
I definitely want to check out In The Meantime (I really like their name, is that uncool of me?)
