The Midway Cafe will play host to their record release show on November 21st, featuring Trophy Lungs, The American Myth (PA) and OC45 (homecoming show). Event details here. The 11-track album written by the band’s members, Jeff Demas (guitar/vocals/lead song writer), Andrew Dedousis (bass/vocals) and Steve Knowles (drums/vocals), takes the music outside of the traditional “rock ‘n’ roll” or “punk rock” genres, and instead melds the two into the groups auditory-vision that is 'Manic', in the fullest sense. The album takes hints from bands such as Face to Face, Green Day, and The Kinks, all whose instrumental styles can be heard in the mix and brought out even clearer through the fantastic Mastering of Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East Mastering (Cambridge MA).

Hey kids, let’s go to a benefit show. Before you start thinking “Monday night, SMH”, understand Charlie's Kitchen ONLY hosts live music on Monday nights, and it’s a pretty damn awesome time.

One day before Boston punks, Trophy Lungs, returned from tour, drummer Brendan Guerin received news that his apartment in Jamaica Plain (that he moved into less than a month ago) caught on fire. Although everyone made it out okay, water and structural damage rendered the apartment unstable and emergency relocation was a must.

The scene came together and to form the Brenefit Show at Charlie’s Kitchen (10 Eliot Street, Harvard Square, Cambridge) featuring Trophy Lungs, Save Ends, Fucko and Rebuilder (essentially, it's an O'Brien's show, but at Charlie's). The evening also serves as a send of for some bands heading to FEST14. Charlie’s Kitchen is 21+ // $5 cover // 8PM // Facebook event link. Additional donations accepted throughout the night. Every dollar that comes through the door goes directly to helping Bren and his girlfriend Kerri find a new place/pay outrageous moving fees.

Trophy Lungs premiered the music video for “Bathroom Graffiti” off their debut full-length ‘Day Jobs’ on Absolute Punk today.

“I'm crazy excited for this video to come out. We had the chance to invite some of our friends out and pay tribute to people in their lives who've passed away”, guitarist/singer Kevin Bogart told Bishop & Rook back in August. “I'm super thankful for everyone who was a part of it.”

For anyone has lost a friend or family member, this song is for you. In anticipation for their debut full-length record ‘Day Jobs’ (out September 18th via Antique Records), staple Boston punk band Trophy Lungs has released the first single “Bathroom Graffiti”.

Writing “Bathroom Graffiti” was incredibly important to me because I feel like it finally gave me a chance to say goodbye."

“Music has always been an outlet for me to deal with the struggles and anxiety that come with growing up,” guitarist/singer Kevin Bogart tells Bishop & Rook. “Whenever I was dealing with something difficult I could put a record on or start playing guitar and it would calm me down. When I was younger two of my good friends Callin and Mike took their own lives. Later on another one of my good friends Chompy dumped his bike and later passed away. When someone dies you think about the last thing you said to them and constantly wonder if things could have been different if you were around. Writing “Bathroom Graffiti” was incredibly important to me because I feel like it finally gave me a chance to say goodbye. Hopefully if somebody is struggling with the loss of a friend or family they can put that song on and get a little bit of relief the way I did.”

To compliment the single, the band recently wrapped up a music video shoot for "Bathroom Graffiti" with Jonas Em (Emvisions Productions) who directed 2013’s “Dad’s Away On Business”. “I'm crazy excited for this video to come out. ‘Day Jobs’ is the follow up to the 2013 EP ‘No Judgement’, was recorded with Jay Maas at Getaway Recording in Haverhill, MA and is available for pre-order via Antique Records. The vinyl record is limited to 300 copies in clear (150) and black (150). Digital download and bundle options are also available. Trophy Lungs will be playing their record release show on Sunday, September 13th with Timeshares (NY), Choke Up and The New Warden at Great Scott, presented by RTT Presents.

Trophy Lungs Join Antique Records, Plan Debut Full Length, Drink More Beer

Boston's Trophy Lungs join local label, Antique Records

Boston party punks, Trophy Lungs, join local boutique label, Antique Records (Born Without Bones, Sledding With Tigers, Blind Mice) and announce plans for a debut full-length record entitled Day Jobs, out later this spring.

Trophy Lungs recently spearheaded the Solidarity Mixtape, a punk compilation to benefit the Black Lives Matter organization. The band will be hitting the road at the end of January to play the likes of Philadelphia and Brooklyn.

The tour kicks off in Florence, MA on August 9th, hitting states like Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin along the way, and wrapping up with a proper homecoming show at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston on August 22nd with Great Lakes USA (Black Numbers / Boston punks with hearts on their sleeves) and Sad And French (Black Numbers / Not French, not from France. Boston pop punk trio, Trophy Lungs, will release the anticipated No Judgement 7" (Death to False Hope Records and Drink or Die Records) on November 29th. Earlier this year the band contributed to the This Is New England – A 100% Benefit Compilation, opened for Masked Intruder at the Middle East in Cambridge and most recently toured the East Coast promoting their new record. As a consistent presence in the Boston punk community (these guys are everywhere), Trophy Lungs continue to refine their sound.

In true punk fashion, “Left of Center” opens with an ambiguous sound clip before breaking into the pop punk style Trophy Lungs is known for. I attribute a lot of my fondness for this 7” to bassist Kelly McGuire’s vocals on “Dad’s Away on Business” and guitarist Kevin Bogart's Big D reference, "When 28 bucks is all you got". Although this 3-song sample is primarily one note, Trophy Lungs manages to do it well.
